WARRIOR: Someone engaged in a struggle or conflict (Webster’s 9th New Collegiate Dictionary)

Finding out that you have a chronic illness can be one of the most devastating things you will ever have to endure. Not many people are prepared for a diagnosis of Cancer, Diabetes, Lupus, Multiple Scleroses or any number of the ailments that plague the world today. You have probably been feeling ill for some time and now you discover this intruder is going to be a part of your life from now on. Your life has changed and there is nothing you can do about it.

That one statement, “There is nothing you can do about it” is probably the biggest mistake you can make in the battle against your illness. It puts you in the mindset of a victim and that is dangerous to your physical and emotional well-being. Victims are people who have already lost the battle. Today your battle is just beginning. It is not a time to admit defeat. It’s time to become a WARRIOR.
